Who Comes to See Me for Relationship Counseling?
People come to see me when a relationship is on the rocks. Some see me for individual help to work through their own stuff, and some come in as a couple, both wanting to get more clarity and to move through conflicts in ways that are healthier. I’ve come to see that, when a couple’s relationship is in trouble, there’s a high potential for finding ways to be together in new, deeper ways. Even events like affairs and seemingly never ending conflict can lead to deep healing, once we all sit together and I support you in really hearing one another. One of the most exciting things about couple’s work is how you can learn to support each other, to be each other’s rock and comfort as you each do work on your own “stuff.” For that reason, I welcome the opportunity to see you both together! I work with couples of all orientations, and welcome learning where you’re each coming from and finding bridges to help you to understand on another.
Now is the Time to Get Back on Track
It’s important to get things on track as early as possible. Something’s led you to look for relationship help now, so the time to do something is now. Don’t let the resentments, the hurts, the angers, fester. Don’t keep communicating in the same ways and expecting different results. Stop trying to deal with your fear and anger alone — and find someone who can help you to help each other — who can help you to stop the pain, the fear, and the stress, and help you to get your relationship on track.
